Geometry Monster Fun

We just recently wrapped up one of our units on geometry and the kiddos and I had a BLAST creating our very own Geometry Monsters. Just take a look at some of their creations… photo_2 finalphoto_3 final   Did you notice the details in the shoes? Aren’t they ADORABLE! This student even chose to add scratches and hair on his monster’s legs… too cute!       photo_1 final This monster looks like he’s ready to get down and dance to some disco music. Can you find where this student demonstrated his understanding of right angles? How about… can you find the intersecting lines? photo_4 final Can you name the shape used to create this monster’s body? … and take a look at how this monster’s arm differs from the last monster. Can you guess what angle this student was trying to show with the arm placement. (By the way did you know that monster’s drink juice? This one sure does… take a look at the juice box she’s holding in her hand! I love it!) Just one more… photo_7 final I could just keep on sharing more of my student’s monsters because I am absolutely in LOVE with ALL OF THEM! But instead I’ll end my post with Mr. Debonaire Monster … doesn’t he look precious? I hope you’ve enjoyed my little monster show and tell! So tell me, which one was YOUR favorite? XOXO, Melissa Signature

    Michaela,
First off, let me just say I absolutely love your name! It's beautiful. Thanks for such kind words. I'm so excited that your kids had as much fun and my kiddos did! I love sharing ideas with other teachers and then hearing about the impact it has in other classrooms around the world. YOU JUST MADE MY DAY! Of course you can blog about the activity. I would be honored… let me know if there is anything you need on my end.
    Thanks again,
