I know I am guilty of using all of the above on any given day. Perhaps that is what has drawn me in to Whole Brain Teaching. For the past month or two I have heard the words “Brain Breaks” and Whole Brain Teaching. However, I’ve never really taken the time to look further into what they really mean. Coach B in the video is actually the creator of Power Teaching, otherwise known as Whole Brain Teaching. His name is Chris Biffle and I think he is AMAZING! I can see how incorporating WBT in the classroom can keep students engaged and motivated. Especially our kinesthetic learners or students having difficulty focusing. I wish my teachers new about WBT when I was a student. It seems like a lot fun… not only for the students, but for the teacher as well!
Have you ever used WBT in your classroom? Or are you like I was up until today… you’ve heard of WBT, but haven’t given it much thought?
I have decided to try WBT in my classroom this year and will keep you all updated on my progress. If you are currently using this in your classroom I would LOVE any words of advice or tips that you’ve learned along the way. September 3, 2012 at 4:40 amI LOVE LOVE LOVE WBT! I use it every year and every year I change it and get better about keeping my kids' attention. It makes teaching so much fun and when the kids laugh and giggle they are learning too. Another great part about WBT is that the kids don't get out of control when they are having this type of fun. You are moving to quickly, introducing new ideas and concepts and they follow write along with you. Good luck with it this year! I can't wait to see how it goes!

September 4, 2012 at 3:17 amMake sure you focus on the Core 4 techniques to start with: Class-Yes!, Teach-OK!, Mirror!, and Scoreboard. Once they have these you can use the Core 4 to literally teach anything.
Ask if you need any help. See you on the forums.
